Big Creek Greenway

"A greenway is about conservation, recreation, environmental education and alternative transportation. Our greenway is an investment in the future of Forsyth County, a county with open green spaces for people as well as natural areas for plants and animals. The Big Creek Greenway in Forsyth County is a 12-foot wide concrete and boardwalk path meandering through the deciduous woods along the Big Creek. The greenway offers an ideal setting for walking, jogging, biking and inline skating.

How Long is the Greenway? Phases 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Big Creek Greenway located in Forsyth County span from McFarland Parkway to Kelly Mill Road for approximately 9.6 miles. When the future Phase 5 is complete, the greenway will span approximately 15 miles in Forsyth County."

ACCESS POINTS:

5120 Bethelview Road - parking and bathrooms
4110 Carolene Way at Fowler Park - parking and bathrooms (Follow the signs inside the park.)
1622 McFarland Parkway - parking for approximately 50 vehicles and portable bathrooms
5259 Union Hill Road - parking for approximately 25 vehicles and bathrooms

Both the Bethelview Road access and Fowler Park access are located in West Forsyth.


Fowler Park

AMENITIES: 12 Tennis courts, 5 Soccer fields, 5 Picnic Pavilions, 4 Baseball/softball fields, 3 Outdoor basketball courts, 2 Playgrounds, Lacrosse field, Batting cages, Big Creek Greenway, Dog park,1.5 mile Paved walking trail, Recreation Center, Skate park, Track and field.

PROGRAMS: Youth athletic leagues, Classes and camps, and Fitness classes.


Midway Park

AMENITIES: 7 Youth baseball/softball fields, 2 Tennis courts, 2 Football/lacrosse turf fields, Batting cages, Community building with kitchen, .1 mile Nature trail, 1.3 mile Paved walking trail, Picnic pavilion, Playground, Restrooms. 

PROGRAMS: 

Midway Family Festival shopping center is directly beside Midway Park which hosts a Boundless Playground. The playground is a universally accessible playground designed to provide play opportunities for children with disabilities. All children will be able to interact with one another on accessible slides, ramps, and climbing structures.


Poole's Mill Park

AMENITIES: Covered bridge, Settingdown Creek, Cumming Garden Club's Memorial Garden, Picnic pavilion with grills, Picnic tables along creek, Playground, and Restrooms (closed late fall through early spring).

Locals will tell you to bring a swimming suit and towel and enjoy the creek. It's a popular swimming hole. They'll also advise you to bring a body board or inflatable tube to slide down the gentle falls. 

For the younger members of the family, be sure to bring sand toys and shovels to play in the pool at the base of the falls. Be on the lookout for fresh water clam shells and interesting rocks. Bring a folding chair and picnic and make the day of it!


UFA Forsyth at Polo Fields

United Futbol Academy’s (UFA) mission is to provide soccer players of all ages the appropriate level of play and training in a supportive environment where skills for soccer are developed alongside skills for life.

They create challenging programs that are attractive to the novice player, challenging to the average player, and demanding to the most advanced player wanting to play at the highest level.

They have leagues for the the recreational player up to semi-pro. It draws varying ages and abilities and is popular spot in the community.
